Procurement - IT Category Sourcing ManagerFull-timeBusiness Group: DCSLegal Entity: AECOM Infrastructure and Environment UK LimitedBusiness Line: Geography OHWork Location Model: HybridOperating Group: Group SupportRole responsibilitiesLead end-to-end global, multi-region strategic sourcing projects across IT categories (including software, hardware, services, and licensing)Support the development and execution of IT category strategies aligned with business objectivesConduct market analysis, demand assessment, spend analysis and supplier evaluation to identify sourcing opportunitiesDeliver measurable cost savings, value creation, and service improvementsLead tender processes (RFx), supplier negotiations, and contract development for complex IT dealsProvide commercial guidance to stakeholders throughout the sourcing lifecycleEnsure robust contractual structures, pricing models, and risk mitigation strategiesStakeholder EngagementPartner closely with IT leadership and key business stakeholders to understand requirements and align sourcing initiativesAct as a trusted commercial advisor on strategic procurement decisionsInfluence senior stakeholders to drive adoption of sourcing strategies and governanceAdvise stakeholders on best practice sourcing strategies, considering the complexity of requirements and timescales to deliver an agile procurement support approachSupport IT stakeholders to deliver strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) where necessary, including performance tracking and governance frameworksProcurement Operations & GovernanceLeverage procurement technology and spend analytics to identify opportunities and inform decision-makingSupport procurement compliance, policy adherence, and P2P adoption (e.g., purchase orders, catalogues)Collaborate with operational procurement teams to ensure effective handoff of lower-value or transactional IT spendContinuous Improvement & Capability BuildingContribute to process improvement initiatives and the evolution of procurement best practicesSupport change management and adoption of category strategiesShare knowledge and best practices to enhance overall team capabilitySignificant experience in strategic IT sourcing and category management within a global environmentProven track record in leading complex sourcing projects and negotiating enterprise-level IT contractsStrong knowledge of IT procurement categories (e.g., software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, services)Expertise in strategic sourcing methodologies, RFx processes, and contract development, including working autonomously to lead competitive sourcing RFx projects and supporting contract draftingDemonstrated ability to operate in a matrixed, international organisationAbility to communicate with impact and influence senior stakeholders and Executive Leadership Teams (ELT)Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and financial modelling skillsExcellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skillsTechnical & ToolsExperience with eProcurement systems (e.g., P2P platforms, eSourcing tools, catalogues)Strong proficiency in spend analytics and data-driven sourcingAdvanced skills in Excel and data analysis toolsFamiliarity with tools such as Coupa and Power BI (preferred)Experience in savings calculations, forecasting and recordingPreferred ExperienceExperience within a professional services, consulting, or infrastructure-led organisationUnderstanding of construction, infrastructure, or transport sectorsExperience working across global, cross-cultural teamsExperience in collaborating and coordinating with adjacent operational procurement teams to ensure less strategic/lowervalue/lower risk spend can be supported under separate ‘guided-buy’ channels, maintaining capacity in the strategic channel for the spend that matters mostKnowledge of Coupa and PowerBI would be an advantageHighly numerate with excellent analytical skills including advanced MS Excel skillsPreferred QualificationsDegree in commercial, economics, business, or engineeringNationally recognized professional certification (e.g., Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or Certified Purchasing Manager or equivalent professional procurement and supply chain qualification)Note: At AECOM, compliance information and onboarding requirements are included in the role description and standard recruitment process.
