Systems Project Engineers are the highest tier of support in Information Technology and are expected to maintain high standards in work ethic, client communication, and technical knowledge. As a Project team member, the Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for handling a variety of projects and initiatives, including escalations.
About The Role
Systems Project Engineers should demonstrate initiative and be proactive in project implementation, problem-solving, and solutions. They will work closely with team members under the guidance of the Manager and serve as examples in knowledge, experience, and leadership. The group is expected to lead initiatives and be internal and client experts.
Magna5 has a dedicated Network Operations Center where tickets are received, prioritized, and escalated if needed. No Engineer is above working on any issue or ticket regardless of escalation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Implementing and delivering project scopes in collaboration with the project management team
* Driving best practices for project solutions
* Interacting professionally and promptly with clients
* Collaborating with team members on problem resolution
* Providing quality customer service in all communications
* Assisting with escalated support requests
* Documenting resolutions and creating knowledge base articles
* Proactively addressing incidents to prevent further issues
* Troubleshooting advanced problems within client environments
* Engaging in ongoing certification training to enhance skills
* Tracking time and activity, and communicating updates via Magna5’s ticketing system
Requirements
Hours and Schedule: The Pittsburgh Office operates 8-5 weekdays. All technicians participate in an on-call rotation and may handle escalated issues outside regular hours.
What You Bring To The Team
Preferred: Associates/Bachelor’s degree or technical equivalent. Relevant industry experience may substitute for formal education. Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Azure, or AWS are recommended.
Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting technologies such as:
* Exchange, Microsoft Office 365, Hybrid Solutions, Migrations, Spam Filters
* Hosted and Cloud Solutions (Azure & AWS)
* Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Storage and RAID
* Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Certificates
* Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat)
* Windows ATP Defender
Skills
* Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Active Directory
* Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365
* Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server
* VMware vSphere 6.5+
* Knowledge of security practices and policies
