The Associate Category Manager, Global Direct Sourcing is responsible for the implementation of sourcing strategies, category management and contract life cycle management within the Global Direct Sourcing department. The role supports all the direct material spending categories related to Novocure products.
The Associate Category Manager, Global Direct Sourcing plays an important role in leading global sourcing activities for specifc commodities and by managing analytics and data-driven decision making via data of different systems, Business and Market Intelligence tools and other sources.
The Associate Manager, Global Direct Sourcing, is an integral part of the Global Sourcing organization and works closely with other Category Managers, the functional leadership and Business and Operations stakeholders to drive best total value for Novocure. Furthermore, this role supports the Product Development, Engineering and Manufacturing departments in driving external innovation, by directly connecting and linking business needs with external capabilities, technologies, or products that fit into Novocure overall strategic plan.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
* Lead Global Sourcing efforts for assigned commodities such as components, contract sterilizers, manufacturing & engineering services, test & calibration, and accessories
* Supports the Direct Global Sourcing Managers and Director in all aspects of global sourcing, category and supplier management, enabling category strategies that are in alignment with Novocure corporate strategy and Supply Chain KPIs; to include, identify and implement cost-down risk-reduction, and/or service-enhancing opportunities by sourcing (including qualification and selection of new providers) and negotiation with vendors for the purchasing of materials,
* Drives Stakeholder alignment on opportunities for enhanced service offering, providing Novocure with a competitive advantage, working with assigned suppliers outlining partnership expectations consistent with Company Quality and Sourcing policies.
* Owns assigned categories, commodities and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to deliver Strategic Sourcing initiatives in the scope of the Source to contract process (S2C).
* Develop expertise in the assigned field; develop market intelligence and stay abreast of the changing supply base, geopolitical and macroeconomic developments and new technologies.
* Delivers end-to-end Value Improvement opportunities aligned with business requirements.
* Acts as point of contact for direct global sourcing with regards to Business Intelligence tools, Spend analytics and Procurement Scorecard or similar.
* Negotiates and execute standard contractual agreements.
* Lead the business engagement and the strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) within the assigned Categories and Supply base.
* Ensure supply continuity within the assigned categories by implementing appropriate risk mitigation plans and actions.
* Drives the supplier-ESG-related initiatives in alignment with corporate goals.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
* 4-6 years of experience in Procurement, Partnership Management, Supply Chain and/or Strategic Sourcing is required.
* Experience in contracting, supplier management and/or project management.
* Experience in working with Business / Market Intelligence tools, SAP procurement/logistics transactions understanding of data extraction from SAP.
* Strategic Sourcing expertise and solid understanding of sourcing and purchasing methodologies and tools.
* Experience and solid understanding of Procurement Policies and best practices.
* Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training in a technical, commercial or supply chain field required, Bachelor’s degree would be advantageous.
Knowledge
* Demonstrated experience on executing sourcing strategies that have fulfilled measurable business objectives.
* Demonstrated analytical decision-making skills and creative thought process ability.
* Ability to get things done and multi-task; to act with a sense of urgency and to take on tactical roles to achieve objectives.
* Knowledge of general manufacturing principles and practices.
* Knowledge of new product commercialization processes.
* Previous experience in medical device industry and knowledge of ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements (cGMP, GMP’s, etc.).
* Experience working in an international and cross-functional environment.Excellent prioritization skills as well as strong decision making/judgment skills will round your profile out.
* Fluency in English, both in oral and in written communication, other EU languages will be an asset.
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
* Ability to work remotely and connect in a virtual environment

This position may be eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant in addition to a full range of benefits. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and skills demonstrated.
