Java Developer for our Zurich based in the Banking sector .
Your tasks: Refactor and enhance the market data distribution platform, including development of new components and extension of existing ones.
Implement high-performance, real-time systems for market data streaming using Java 11 or higher.
Participate in application support, including on-call duty and incident troubleshooting.
Contribute to the design and architecture of microservices and distributed cloud-native applications.
Promote engineering best practices, including code reviews, automation, and mentoring junior developers.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. DevOps, QA, product managers) to ensure end-to-end delivery of robust and scalable solutions.
Your experience/knowledge: 5+ years of professional experience as a Java Developer, with strong fundamentals and practical use of Java in scalable environments.
Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deploying, scaling, and managing containerized services.
Proficient in Spring framework and familiar with the end-to-end development process from local setup to cloud deployment, ideally with Azure (other cloud platforms acceptable).
Foundational understanding of microservices architecture and principles, with beginner-level hands-on exposure.
Familiar with DevOps culture, including CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, Grafana) and Agile/SAFe methodologies.
Strong grasp of multi-threading, memory management, and testability using JUnit and Mockito; exposure to functional programming paradigms is a plus.
Experience working with business market data or in banking environments, particularly front office systems.
Language skills: English, German is an asset.
