The CFO of the company is looking to hire an International Accountant to strengthen the team and support the expansion of the company while implementing a modern and efficient finance department.
The objective of the role is to ensure the financials of the company are exhaustive, correct and compliant with local legislations, allowing the CFO to focus on reporting, and financial and business analysis.
The role is based in Canton Schwyz, within walking distance of the train station, and offers two days of remote work per week.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Consolidation
* Take full ownership of the Swiss entity's accounting: manage bookkeeping, ensure accurate general ledger entries, and prepare quarterly, and year-end closings in compliance with Swiss GAAP FER
* Prepare and submit tax declarations.
* Ensure the payroll for the Swiss based employees (14 employees)
* For international subsidiaries: oversee the quality and accuracy of financial data prepared by local fiduciaries, review financial statements, reconcile intercompany transactions, and consolidate figures across all jurisdictions.
* Handle foreign currency transactions and conversions, ensuring proper recognition and reporting.
* Consolidate in total a group of 9 legal entities
Compliance & Audit
* Coordinate and support global financial audits, supporting the CFO for external audits.
* Develop and implement consistent accounting policies and procedures across all entities.
* Monitor changes in international accounting standards and assess their impact on reporting and compliance.
* Collaborate closely with tax, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment and compliance across functions.
Projects & Systems
* Take significant role in the finance workstream for the implementation and optimization of the new ERP system (NetSuite), ensuring proper configuration for multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation- with the support of external consultants.
* Contribute to process improvements and harmonization of reporting across jurisdictions.
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting
* Certified Swiss Accountant (eidg. Dipl. Buchhalter)
* 5 years of accounting experience in an international setting, with exposure to multiple local accounting standards.
* Hands-on expertise in Switzerland, managing the full cycle from bookkeeping to closing and tax compliance.
* Proven track record in consolidation across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
* ERP-savvy with strong systems knowledge and experience in finance digitalization projects.
* Adaptable and agile, comfortable working in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments.
* Proactive builder, capable of structuring and developing a robust accounting function in a growing organization.
* Cross-culturally aware, with strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across regions.
* Fluent in English (additional languages are an advantage) and able to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
