You will report to the Senior Vice President, External Affairs and will be responsible for managing a dedicated global advocacy team and for developing, driving and coordinating a proactive strategy for IATA's advocacy strategy worldwide.What your day would be likeCoordinate and manage to the development of IATA's strategy regarding aero political matters as a member of the leadership team of External Affairs.In close consultation and collaboration with the relevant IATA legal, technical subject matter experts and policy teams (central and regions), ensure effective formulation of IATA positions on aero political and regulatory matters and other aviation policy issues including, but limited to, accessibility/facilitation, airport and aviation services and infrastructure, airspace, cargo, customs/trade, consumer, digital policy, financial affairs/taxation, safety/security and sustainability.Take leadership in advocating IATA's views to key global stakeholders, including governments, global inter-governmental and non- governmental authorities and organizations, and represent IATA at forums appropriate to this purpose; ensure support to IATA's External Affairs regional teams to carry out successful lobbying campaigns locally; Ensure synchronization in the formulation of IATA's advocacy positions globally and regionally. Provide policy and aero political support to the relevant IATA Advisory Councils and Working Groups;Lead and motivate a team of professionals, develops capabilities through effective talent management, recruitment and succession planning. We would love to hear from you if•Master's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics or Law.•A minimum of 20 years of international working experience with at least 10 years at a senior executive level in a similar position.•Proven experience in political lobbying and advocacy. •In-depth knowledge of IATA and governmental and legal affairs related to the air industry. •Proven communication skills and ability to speak authoritatively and persuasively before large groups and proven track record on influencing the most senior decision makers on aero political matters.•Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams and to foster collaboration across functional and cultural lines.•Policy analysis and strategic thinking•Outstanding leadership and management experience in a high-pressure, multicultural and international environment.•Strong communication, relationship management and negotiation skills.•Fluency (written and oral) in English is essential; fluency or good working knowledge of at least one other language is highly desirable.Travel Required: yes: 10%Diversity and Inclusion are one of our key priorities and we want to role model it.
