Supervisor of High Voltage Laboratory
Responsible for coordinating the jointing team within the High Voltage Laboratory, supporting external testing and field activities, ensuring proper preparation, installation, and execution of high-voltage cable systems and accessories for testing purposes while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Coordination & Planning: Coordinate daily activities of the jointing team within the HV laboratory; organize preparation and installation of HV cables and accessories (up to 500 kV); plan and support jointing activities at external laboratories and client sites.
Execution & Supervision: Supervise installation of HV cable systems and accessories for test loops; oversee laboratory setup and provide support during HV testing activities; manage preparatory work, including cable handling and logistics; ensure timely and efficient execution of all jointing operations.
Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures; monitor and improve reliability and quality of test installations; identify and mitigate operational risks.
Team Leadership & Development: Train, mentor, and develop jointing technicians; foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement; support skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Coordinate closely with R&D, Project Management, and HV Test Engineers; act as interface between laboratory and field activities; contribute to the continuous improvement of jointing techniques and methodologies; align practices with the Head of Installation to ensure consistency across regions.
Profile
Education & Experience: Technical background in electrical engineering, mechanics, or metalworking; strong hands‑on experience in high‑voltage cable jointing and accessories; proven experience supervising field activities or construction sites; experience in HV testing environments is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and team coordination skills; practical, solution‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities; high level of autonomy and accountability; ability to work effectively in international and cross‑functional environments.
Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 20–30 %); good command of English; German and Italian are a plus; valid driving license.
