EMEA Global Trade Compliance Manager
Experienced Customs & Global Trade professional required to join our Global Trade Compliance team in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. The EMEA Global Trade Compliance Manager will be part of a team responsible for the import/export compliance program for operations throughout EMEA. This role focuses on ensuring that Aptiv EDS business is conducted efficiently and at all times in full compliance with all import and export regulations, as well as all Aptiv internal policies and procedures, reporting to the EMEA Global Trade Lead.
Your role
1. Development of policies and procedures relating to customs regulatory requirements to be followed by the business across the region
2. Maintain and deliver training globally and across all functions and business units to relevant stakeholders
3. Establish, document and ensure periodic update of general trade compliance processes and procedures
4. Lead resolutions for business teams during Import and other Customs Compliance related audits.
5. Manage third party brokers contract and renewal process within the EMEA region
6. Manage HTS classification process and provide escalatory support to Classification team
7. Implement Aptiv’s Global Trade Compliance Internal Assessments and manage identified improvements/developments.
8. Manage EMEA trade systems and lead implementation of new modules
9. Ensure compliance with, and optimisation of, all applicable customs special procedures (IPR, OPR, Customs Warehousing, Temporary Import, etc)
10. Lead resolution of issues for Aptiv sites on origin determination, qualification under Free Trade Agreements and issuing of Long Term Supplier declarations.
11. Deliver SME and ensure Aptiv participation in Supply Chain Security and Import Compliance Programs (eg, AEO).
12. Ensure appropriate maintenance of customs related records in accordance with Aptiv and Legal requirements.
13. Drive EMEA duty savings projects and initiatives using trade data analytics, with close collaboration with GTC leadership team
14. Resolution of operational compliance emergencies and ability to make compliance decisions on Aptiv actions for business leaders
15. Conduct analysis on import/export data to identify potential duty mitigation opportunities

18. Collaborate cross-functionally (Supply Chain, Logistics, Tax, Finance, Sites etc.) to support corporate planning initiatives
Your Background
19. Top-tier global trade experience, including with a law or consulting firm and/or multinational company
20. 8-12 years of relevant professional experience
21. Experience working on customs-related topics in North African countries
22. Technology and/or automotive industry experience is desirable
23. Prior people management experience is desirable
24. Experience with SAP GTS preferred
25. English fluency required, French/Arabic language skills desirable
