This Position reports to:
R&D Manager, GBL Excitation
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the System and Hardware Solutions Research and Development (R&D) team — consisting of internal and external resources — and support them in reaching the agreed R&D targets. Each day, you will coach and develop the team, with a strong focus on accomplishments and people leadership. You will also showcase your technical skills by leading technology and platform development and managing Intellectual Property.

This role is contributing to the Excitation business line within the Process Automation Energy Industries (PAEN) division in Switzerland. Main stakeholders are Product Management, Operations, Regional Sales and Execution units and R&D.
You will join a collaborative and forward-thinking team, where you will be able to thrive and contribute meaningfully.
You will be mainly accountable for:
* Lead a multinational System and Hardware Solutions R&D team across Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic, while coaching and motivating members to create an efficient, collaborative culture.
* Plan and manage relevant, forward-looking technology projects, aligned with business and technology roadmaps and provide technical direction acting as a key resource for complex challenges in Excitation Systems.
* Organize competency development and manage technologies, platforms, and IP with a systems-level approach to oversee hardware integration and coordinate projects for timely, high-quality delivery in power automation.
* Collaborate closely with Product Management, Operations, Global R&D, as well as regional stakeholders, and contribute to internal and external technical bodies and communities, promoting innovation and best practices.
Qualifications for the role:
* Degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field as well as 5+ years of experience in R&D, engineering, or product development in the industrial automation, energy, or power systems domain.
* You have a well-rounded background in systems or systems engineering, with a solid understanding of complex industrial systems
* You bring solid experience in people leadership, ideally with multi-site or international teams
* You are highly skilled in project and work package coordination, navigating cross-functional environments
* Experience in the Power Generation area (e.g. excitation, turbine control, generator systems) is appreciated
* You are committed to leading people, driving results, and developing talent.
* You are fluent in English (German is appreciated).
