Become part of Zurich’s Property & Casualty (P&C) Risk team in Group Risk Management. In this senior role, you will deliver valuable risk insights to key business and risk stakeholders through independent insurance risk reviews and effective risk reporting. You will help shape Zurich’s risk culture and contribute to our reputation for excellence and integrity.
Responsibilities
Act as independent Risk adviser to P&C insurance functions, providing Risk challenge and review in decision making processes, governance and assurance activities.
Lead independent top-down analysis and assessment of insurance risks, including risk deep dives and the production of reports.
Provide actionable risk insights to senior management.
Develop and maintain effective Risk Governance including policies and other governance documents for insurance risks.
Deliver risk reporting, including Quarterly Risk Reports (QRR) and Board Risk and Investment Committee (BRIC) reports.
Shape the P&C Risk Deep Dive Plan, ensuring Group material risks are identified and assessed.
Support the delivery of independent validations of P&C models, contributing to validation execution and reporting.
Communicate and engage with regulators, auditors, Group experts, the Group CRO and the relevant Boards on P&C insurance risk topics.
Collaborate with regional and local risk officers and other Risk teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance or equivalent.
Fully qualified actuary in a recognized actuarial body is an advantage.
8 or more years of relevant work experience in the insurance industry, within P&C.
Advanced business acumen and knowledge of the insurance industry coupled with experience in multiple functions (e.g., underwriting, claims, pricing, reserving) is preferred. Experience in Retail is an advantage.
Awareness of risks embedded in insurance products, related processes and underlying data.
Excellent communication, advisory, influencing, negotiating, and relationship building skills.
Advanced risk management expertise, with a good understanding of risk management principles and practices, particularly in the context of P&C insurance.
Advanced data literacy, analytics and visualization skills.
Fluent English, both oral and written.
