Key responsibilities
* Lead Renewable Energy focus area and research group at the institute.
* Teach and mentor students in Bachelor and Master programs.
* Acquire applied research projects in decarbonization technologies.
* Strategic and operational management of the Renewable Energies focus area.
* Lead your own research group.
* Teach in bachelor and master programs, continuing education, and supervise project, bachelor, and master theses.
* Independent acquisition of applied R&D projects in the field of technologies for decarbonizing the energy system.
* Participate in marketing and support of bachelor and continuing education offerings.
* Build and maintain professional contacts with industry and associations, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
* Completed university degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and a doctorate.
* Recognized expert in combustion, especially combustion dynamics.
* Experience of at least 5 years in the sought-after subject areas.
* Years of experience leading teams in research and development in industry and academia.
* Success in acquiring national and international (EU) funding.
* Extensive international networking in industry and academia; known worldwide in the research community (publications, patents, conferences, editorial duties, etc.).
* Extensive conference presentations and peer‑reviewed journal publications.
* University teaching experience and additional didactic training (e.g., CAS University Didactics).
* Fluent in spoken and written German and English.
* Enthusiasm and motivation to pass on knowledge to the next generation and to participate in, and acquire, innovative research projects.
