Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Manager, Patient & Site Engagement to join our team to be located in any of the above mentioned locations.

The Manager, Patient & Site Engagement (PSE) is responsible for executing programmatic recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies that ensure diverse participation in clinical trials. This role will develop and execute program- and trial-level PSE strategies, including site engagement, DEICT, and advocacy, in alignment with all applicable compliance policies and procedures. The manager will collaborate with local, site-facing roles, and partners in the Innovation & Advocacy teams within Global Development to shape fit-for-purpose strategies and tactics while gathering insights to inform and optimize these strategies.


Principal Responsibilities

* Develop and execute program- and trial-level PSE strategies, including site engagement, DEICT, and advocacy, ensuring alignment with compliance policies and procedures.
* Gather local insights to inform and optimize the development of global program- and trial-level PSE strategies.
* Collaborate with site-facing roles and external stakeholders to gather insights that inform tailored strategies for patient engagement and diversity.
* Continually evaluate and optimize PSE strategies and tactics to enhance effectiveness and adaptability.
* Identify and own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conduct Return on Investment (ROI) analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and tactics across programs and trials.
* Manage program- and study-specific vendor activities to support recruitment and engagement initiatives.
* Drive innovative strategies and novel tactics to build and maintain enduring relationships with sites and patient representative groups (e.g., Patient Advocacy Groups).
* Create site-facing materials, train teams, and develop dashboards to track the progress of DICT initiatives and recruitment efforts.
* Manage recruitment timelines to meet local submission processes while maintaining documentation of recruitment development and quality standards.
* Support benchmarking and best practice sharing across clinical teams and external partners, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Mentor and support the onboarding of new team members, fostering employee engagement, inclusion, and adherence to Credo Behaviors.


Principal Relationships

* Internal: DAS Leaders, Clinical Delivery Leaders, Clinical Trial Leaders, Clinical Trial Managers, Country Heads, Study Responsible Physicians, Study Clinical Scientists, and representatives from Commercial, Procurement, IT, Legal, Regulatory, and HCC.
* External: Investigational sites and Investigators, Patient Advocacy groups, and foundations.


Education And Experience Requirements

* Required Minimum Education: University/college degree in a scientific or business discipline; preferred areas of study include Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nursing, Pharmacy).
* Required Years of Related Experience: Minimum of 6 years in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or related industries, with a focus on patient engagement, recruitment, and diversity initiatives.


Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

* Strong clinical research operational knowledge and experience across multiple study phases (Phase I-IV) and understanding of GCP.
* Proficiency in analysis, strategy development and execution, customer and market knowledge, and digital marketing strategy.
* Experience in creating new or improved customer experiences, particularly for underrepresented populations.
* Ability to work effectively in a heavily matrixed organization, leading and influencing without direct authority.
* Strong analytical skills, structured thinking, and the ability to set priorities based on business analysis and customer research.
* Exceptional communication, presentation, and networking skills, with the ability to connect across a global organization.
* Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to shape direction in new areas with limited guidance.

* Percentage Traveled: Travel up to 20% of the time, defined by business needs.
* Preferred Related Industry Experience: Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Healthcare, Consultancy, Marketing, and experience in clinical operations or drug development.
