We are looking for an accountant with experience in the banking sector, and deep knowledge and understanding of Depository and Trustee banks.
Key Responsibilities
* Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
* Manage general ledger activities, including payroll, pensions, expenses, accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
* Oversee and review work completed by offshore teams, ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting standards.
* Assist in preparing tax returns (CIT, VAT, etc.) and ensure accurate filings within regulatory deadlines.
* Analyze financial data to provide insights for variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Prepare materials for regulatory and internal reporting, including board and committee presentations.
* Support external and internal audits, maintaining high-quality documentation and governance.
Qualifications
* Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant, or equivalent experience in accounting or audit.
* Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a financial institution, preferably within an international group.
* Strong understanding of depository banking operations, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
* Experience with general ledger systems (Oracle or similar preferred).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills in English and German.
* Comfortable overseeing processes handled by offshore teams.
