Senior financial analyst, fp&a retail

The position is accountable for providing accurate, timely, and relevant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data production, reporting, analysis, planning and forecasting to different stakeholders of the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) Finance Financial Planning & Analysis – Retail team.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Actively involved with consolidating, analyzing, and synthesizing large amount of financial and non‐financial information from various stakeholders
2. Prepares highquality monthly and quarterly reports, dashboards and presentations in a timely and organized fashion catered to the needs of the different stakeholders of Global WAM & GA Finance Financial Planning and Analysis Retail
3. Prepares Monthly/Quarterly Management Reporting (MMR), Sales Commentaries, Core Earnings Commentaries, Forecasts for Manulife Private Wealth, Annual Planning cycle and others
4. Prepares and maintains templates of report packages, highlight key issues, and actively look for resolution
5. Improves and re‐engineers reporting processes and deliverables to create consistency and efficiency during month‐end and quarter‐end cycles
6. Supports the annual consolidated planning process, including investigation of trends, model projections, sensitivities, metrics and preparation of presentation decks
7. Initiates improvements by exploring, identifying, and implementing reporting, analysis, and process solutions
8. Works closely with the North America business unit, Stakeholders and MBPS FP&A
9. teammates to ensure a smooth reporting and planning process, assisting in ad hoc requests as needed
10. Participates in team cross‐training to establish back‐up and improvement of processes handled
11. Trains new resources within the team and in conducting quality checks on the team’s work in certain circumstances

Required Qualifications:

12. University graduate in Accounting/Finance, professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred
13. At least 3 years of experience in a finance role (Financial Reporting, Management Reporting), exposure to Wealth and Asset Management industry is an asset
14. Strong MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills
15. Good communication and presentation skills; ability to succinctly engage with business partners and team members
16. Good technical accounting skills with an understanding of the business environment and financial reporting structure are needed to provide value-added analysis
17. Strong attention to detail
18. Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
19. Proactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive “can-do” attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

20. Power BI knowledge is a plus
21. Anaplan knowledge is a plus
22. Knowledge of IFRS tools (SmartView-Essbase, Lawson) is an advantage
