The Life Cycle Development Lead – Active Immunotherapy is responsible for the development of a comprehensive development strategy for the Active Immunotherapy Programs of AC Immune and its operational implementation, delivered through the effective leadership of a cross-functional team.
The Active Immunotherapy Programs are anti-tau active immunotherapy, anti-Abeta active immunotherapy and anti-a-syn active immunotherapy
The Life Cycle Development Lead – Active Immunotherapy leads the cross-functional teams setting and accomplishing actionable objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner, being responsible of the execution of the Program strategy. In this position the Life Cycle Development Lead – Active Immunotherapy periodically reports to the Executive Committee, or the Extended Leadership Team progresses, issues, risks, and team’s recommendations. Team leadership implies strong matrix interactions with members of regulatory affairs, translational sciences, clinical development, CMC, toxicology, and other scientific and business-related disciplines.
Key responsibilities
* Works with the Senior Management to develop the optimal strategy for each Program of the Active Immunotherapy pipeline
* Actively contributes to the Active Immunotherapy Programs strategy decision-making by providing context, data driven relevant analysis, impact to the mid- and long-term development
* Leads the communication of strategy and plans to the Executive Committee and the Extended Leadership Team, development partners, Program teams and other key stakeholders
* Understands the bigger picture (at the level of the portfolio and the matrix responsibilities within the Organization) beyond the individual project
* Leads the development and maintenance of the Integrated Project Plan (IPP)
* Manages successful cross-functional execution of the IPP through negotiating with Function heads about functional deliverables
* Aligns the team to achieve its goals through the networks of people/functions represented in the team
* Identifies issues and leads implementation of contingency planning
* Leads resolution of project conflicts at the team, and, if applicable, at senior management levels
* Leads problem-solving at team level and provides decision-making tools and techniques
* Identifies critical risks and assumptions and transparently communicates them to the team, functions, and senior management
* Manages the collaboration with a development partner
Qualifications & Skills
* 20+ years’ experience combining science, strategy, business as part of a team that brings life-saving diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines to patients
* Strong knowledge and understanding of global product development in the pharmaceutical industry
* Significant leadership experience with cross-functional, global teams; experience facilitating multi-disciplinary commercial stakeholders is also desirable
* MS in scientific discipline, or MBA with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
* Proficient public speaker, presentation delivery, and report writing in English
