Job Description:

The role involves managing a team of lead buyers, operational and project buyers handling CAPEX projects at Visp and other European sites as needed. The responsibilities include leading the team, managing procurement activities, and executing hands-on purchasing including contracting and bid management.
The candidate will collaborate with category management, contracts and claims management, operational buying, and other stakeholders like project controls and managers. The portfolio includes CAPEX projects involving professional services, process equipment, construction, and fit-out projects.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop procurement strategies and coordinate activities for investment projects, managing a procurement volume of CHF 5m to 500m.
* Procure supplies and services for assigned projects, including systems, equipment, spare parts, consulting, engineering, and planning services.
* Define and implement procurement strategies, set targets, and classify products based on market conditions.
* Bundle procurement measures across the plant and other sites.
* Prepare, negotiate, and maintain framework agreements.
* Develop action plans, manage supplier relationships, evaluate new suppliers, and oversee strategic key account activities.
* Optimize lifecycle costs and reduce material, transport, and ancillary costs.
* Lead or participate in projects to improve technical purchasing efficiency and achieve common goals.
Key requirements:
* Technical training (ETH or FH) or similar, preferably in process engineering, chemical engineering, or plant engineering.
* Experience in plant construction, purchasing, sales, contract management, and project management.
* Strong project and procurement management skills.
* Ability to work effectively in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams.
* Excellent business acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
* Initiative and resilience.
