Lead engineer, data platform - geneva

AP Executive is partnering with a high-growth data and technology business to appoint a Senior Engineer as part of its next phase of scale. Please note this role is on-site 5 days per week in central Geneva.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of growth. Having built its platform with a combination of specialist vendors and external contractors, the company is now growing its internal engineering capability and looking for talented engineers to help shape what comes next.

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Engineer who is equally comfortable writing clean, production‑ready code and contributing to technical discussions around architecture and delivery. This role will suit someone who thrives in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environments and wants to make a tangible impact on a real‑time data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Contributing to the delivery of the technical roadmap alongside senior engineering leadership
• Developing and maintaining scalable, reliable software and infrastructure components
• Supporting the adoption of engineering best practices, documentation, and governance standards
• Collaborating with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
• Working closely with product and data teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Playing an active role in the architecture and evolution of a growing real‑time data platform

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a software or data engineering role within fintech, media, data, or high‑growth technology businesses
• A track record of delivering features and products in lean, fast‑moving environments
• Hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies
• Experience working within data‑intensive, analytics‑driven, or real‑time systems environments

Additional experience considered advantageous

• Exposure to crypto, financial data, or market data products
• Experience working at a startup or scale‑up environment
• The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical colleagues
