Job Description
Translation/Revision
* Translate documents from English into Spanish, including collaboration with external translators for larger assignments.
* Handle urgent translation needs for short texts and documents.
* Revise and proofread Spanish translations from both internal and external sources to ensure quality and consistency.
* Provide feedback and training to translators.
* Post-edit machine-translated content to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
* Collaborate with content owners to clarify terminology and ensure alignment with organizational messaging.
* Maintain and update the Spanish section of the translation memory and terminology database.
* Test and implement new translation tools and technologies.
Coordination
* Manage the pool of external translators: assign tasks, obtain quotes, onboard new suppliers, and maintain contact and availability records.
* Oversee translation-related purchase orders and budgets; process quotes and invoices.
* Review incoming translation requests, confirm scope and target languages, and ensure documents are ready for translation.
* Prepare files for translation (formatting, word count analysis, pre-processing).
* Finalize layout and formatting of translated documents before delivery.
* Coordinate translation workflows, assigning tasks to internal and external translators across multiple languages.
* Set and manage project timelines in collaboration with clients.
* Track and manage document versions for projects with frequent updates.
* Maintain and support CAT tools to enhance translation quality and efficiency.
* Provide technical support for translation tools and liaise with software providers as needed.
* Offer administrative support to the Translations Lead and perform other related duties as required.
The Successful Applicant
ExperienceTranslation/Revision
* At least 5 years of experience as a translator/reviser, ideally in health, science, finance, or legal fields.
* Proficiency in computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools.
* Experience managing translation memories and glossaries.
Coordination
* Minimum 2 years of experience in translation project management.
* Proven ability to manage high-volume workflows and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
* Familiarity with project management systems, including client portals and workflow tools.
* Experience with invoice tracking and financial processing.
Qualifications
* University degree in Translation or a related field, or equivalent combination of certification and professional experience.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
* Familiarity with global health or international development sectors is an asset.
