Overview
We are seeking an experienced Private Equity Investment Manager to join our Private Markets team with a primary focus on fund selection, manager due diligence, and portfolio construction. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of private equity strategies, and a proven track record evaluating GPs across geographies and market segments.
This role is ideal for an investment professional with 5 to 10 years of experience in private equity, fund‑of‑funds, institutional investing, or multi‑manager platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Selection & Due Diligence
* Lead the sourcing, screening, and evaluation of private equity funds across Buyout, Growth, Venture Capital, and/or Secondary strategies.
* Conduct full investment due diligence, including track‑record analysis, portfolio diagnostics, team assessment, reference checks, and ESG evaluation.
* Prepare detailed investment memoranda and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
* Maintain strong relationships with GPs and monitor existing fund commitments.
Portfolio Construction & Monitoring
* Contribute to the construction of diversified private equity portfolios aligned with client objectives.
* Monitor fund performance, capital calls, distributions, and valuation updates.
* Support scenario modelling, pacing analysis, and long‑term allocation planning.
* Participate in quarterly and annual reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Market Research & Sourcing
* Map the private equity landscape and identify emerging managers, niche strategies, and differentiated opportunities.
* Attend industry conferences, AGMs, and GP meetings to maintain strong market visibility.
* Provide insights on market trends, fundraising dynamics, and competitive positioning.
Co‑Investment & Secondary Support (Optional depending on firm)
* Assist in evaluating co‑investment opportunities alongside selected GPs.
* Support secondary transaction analysis where relevant.
Qualifications & Experience
* 5–10 years of experience in Private Equity, Fund‑of‑Funds, Institutional Allocations, or related investment roles.
* Strong understanding of private equity strategies, fund structures, and performance metrics.
* Proven experience conducting manager due diligence and preparing investment recommendations.
* Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and presentation abilities.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating within a broader investment team.
* Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s, CFA, CAIA, or MBA preferred.
