Job Description:
This vacancy is for a Financial Reporting and Accounting Manager at a globally operating pharmaceutical company based in Basel.
Your tasks include:
1. Supporting the execution of strategies for US tariffs projects by providing necessary data for internal and external reporting, including national statistics and tax information, in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Supporting the monthly close process and general ledger accounting activities as needed.
3. Collaborating with key stakeholders across entities, including business colleagues, auditors, and financial reporting teams.
4. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related policies and processes, supporting productivity, continuous improvement, and process changes.
5. Ensuring proper system functionality and process linkages.
6. Communicating effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates, and addressing issues.
7. Documenting all processes, policies, and procedures clearly.
8. Ensuring compliance with accounting manuals, financial controls, and regulatory requirements, including performing controls and following up on deviations.
9. Promoting a strong control environment, following up on audit issues, and implementing corrective measures.
10. Driving improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness, including process harmonization and standardization.
Your experience/knowledge:
1. University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or equivalent senior finance experience.
2. At least 3 years of financial/accounting experience with in-depth functional expertise; auditing or consultancy experience is a plus.
3. Ability to work effectively in a multinational organization.
4. Strong communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
5. Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
6. Proficiency in English; German skills are beneficial. Additional languages are a plus.
