For our client, a reinsurer based in Zurich, we are looking for a Technical Accounting Specialist (SAP FS-RI) to support technical settlement activities, compliant reporting, and high‑quality claims and accounting processes, while ensuring seamless coordination with stakeholders and contributing to ongoing process and organizational development.
What to expect:
* Contributing to key work packages for quarterly and annual financial statements for the firm and the Group according to Swiss GAAP/OR and IFRS, including coordination of complex balance sheet items.
* Independently handling specialized accounting topics and contributing to (partial) project management within the SAP FS-RI and accounting landscape.
* Conducting the technical review and finalization of incoming and outgoing (retrocession) technical accounts, taking complex reinsurance contract structures into consideration.
* Facilitating the correct and timely processing of payables and receivables, including the clarification and escalation of discrepancies with internal and external partners.
* Supporting the monitoring and coordination of international payment flows in close collaboration with Treasury and external stakeholders.
* Performing quality‑assured review, plausibility checks, and accounting of claims reports, including analysis of deviations, trends, and reporting patterns.
* Acting as a technical point of contact for international business partners and internal stakeholders (underwriting, risk management, actuarial, business process management etc.) in both German and English.
* Driving the enhancement and further development of internal processes, reporting structures, system functionalities and automation initiatives.
We expect:
* Completed business or economics degree, ideally with a focus on accounting/insurance.
* Several years of professional experience in technical accounting in the reinsurance sector.
* Very good knowledge of accounting processes, balance sheet relationships, and technical accounting logic.
* Strong SAP experience, FS‑RI knowledge required as a user and system support/administration.
* Confident use of MS Office (especially Excel) and very good IT affinity.
* Excellent written and spoken English and German.
* High level of initiative, sense of responsibility, and enjoyment of cross‑functional collaboration.
* Ability to prepare complex issues in a manner appropriate for the target audience and provide technical support to junior team members.
* Strong analytical thinking skills, structured approach to work, and high problem‑solving skills.
