Title: Technical Lead, Product ArtworkLocation: Schaffhausen, SwitzerlandJob Function: Supply Chain Engineering | Job Sub Function: Packaging Design Engineering | Job Category: Scientific/TechnologyAbout the RoleThis role is pivotal in supporting and driving technical innovation and automation within the Product Artwork (PA) team, ensuring operational excellence and future‑readiness. The selected candidate will serve as a technical and automation subject matter expert (SME), driving artwork automation initiatives, resolving complex technical artwork issues, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to deliver efficient, scalable solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary SME for coordinating and troubleshooting all technical aspects of Product Artwork, providing strategic guidance and operational support to stakeholders and business partners.Coordinate with Packaging Sites, LOCs and Business Partners to support all technical and automated artwork template corrections and questions.Review technical and automated artwork template files (created by BPs) to ensure compliance with departmental SOPs.Support automation initiatives within the artwork management system (ArcTiC / Esko), partnering with Product Artwork and cross‑functional teams.Support the development and creation of automated artwork templates.Deliver timely and compliant delivery of Product Artwork Automation that meets all HA and company standards.Leverage innovative technology, best practices and synergies for operational and automation efficiency in compliance with J&J Policy and local HA Requirements.Provide technical support and training to team members within Product Artwork & Business Partners.Assist in designing and improving technical and automation workflows; establish KPIs to measure performance and value creation (in collaboration with PT team).Work and partner closely with IT, Regulatory, Quality, Packaging Sites, Brand Protection, Supply Chain, and external partners or vendors to support seamless automation integration and deliver proactive, expert technical support for all artwork‑related processes.Ensure adherence to artwork systems and regulatory standards; identify and mitigate technical and automation risks.Work closely with Product Artwork Excellence team for all quality and compliance related events, performance metrics, audits, development of SOP, training content and system master data input.Help benchmark best practices and new innovations for all product artwork technical and automation related activities.Build strong alliances across various stakeholders and teams to ensure seamless workflow and effective communication.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Engineering, Graphic Design, or Supply Chain preferred.Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment; technical and automation related experience in artwork, regulatory labeling or packaging fields.Production‑readiness of artworks (preferably packaging) with 2+ years experience.Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro.Exposure to and understanding of regulatory processes and systems in pharmaceutical packaging, artwork management or related fields.Strong understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to artwork, packaging and labeling in the pharmaceutical or regulatory‑driven industry.Supply Chain experience, including value chain knowledge, packaging sites, MSAT external vendor management, or related areas.Knowledge of E2E performance and metric‑based culture within the artwork coordination team.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence without authority and manage partner relationships.Ability to multi‑task, work with minimal supervision, and demonstrate resilience and high productivity under schedule and budget constraints.Strong cross‑functional business acumen with comprehensive understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain processes.Preferred: Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industry experience; Lean/Six Sigma certification; familiarity with artwork systems (ArcTiC/Esko); experience in setting up KPIs.BenefitsBenefits are not explicitly disclosed in the source; prospective candidates should contact the recruiter for details.
