HR & Operations Intern
Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to learn how a startup is built and scaled. We are looking for a highly organized and proactive HR & Operations Intern to support our startup in a wide range of business activities.
You will work on projects spanning recruiting, administration, investor relations, grants, events, office management, and business operations. Rather than focusing on a single function, you will gain exposure to the full operational lifecycle of a deep-tech semiconductor startup and develop a broad understanding of how different business functions interact.
Over time, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the areas that best match your strengths and interests, and transition into a more specialized role after the internship.
How You'll Support the HR & Operations Manager
Recruiting and People Management
Assist with coordinating interviews and candidate communications
Help maintain recruiting pipelines and hiring trackers
Assist in preparing employment agreements, onboarding and offboarding documents
Support the improvement of performance review and employee development processes
Assist with HR administration and employee record management
Help coordinate business travel and logistics
Administration
Support preparation of financial reports and cashflow updates
Assist with invoice management and expense tracking
Help coordinate payroll-related administrative activities
Support VAT, insurance, and other administrative processes
Maintain company documentation and records
Operations
Review and maintain company policies, operational documentation and trackers
Help document and optimize workflows and company procedures
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI tools, automation, and process standardization
Support office administration and day-to-day company operations
Grants and Compliance
Support preparation of grant reports, timesheets and audit documentation
Coordinate document collection and submission processes
Track deadlines and reporting requirements
Investor and Management Support
Help preparing materials for investors and board meetings
Assist with shareholder communications
Support AGM and corporate governance activities
Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree in Business Administration, HR Management or related field
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Comfortable using AI productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to improve efficiency while validating outputs and maintaining critical thinking
Strong organizational skills and commitment for high quality standards
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
Nice to Have
German is a strong plus
Previous academic or internship experience with ERP tools (e.g., Bexio, SAP, Monday)
Familiarity with taxation and social security systems (exposure to the Swiss system is a plus)
Previous academic or internship experience in recruiting or people management
