In this key role, you are not just a designer, but a mechatronics all‑rounder and innovator. You transform complex requirements into functional assemblies and contribute directly to the success of vital medical technology products. Your added value lies in combining theoretical know‑how with practical implementation – you don't just see your developments on screen, but accompany them all the way to the commissioning of the prototype.
Your responsibilities
* End‑to‑end development: Developing sophisticated mechatronic solutions from the initial idea to series production readiness.
* ? Design: Planning, conceptualizing and constructing mechatronic systems, devices and plastic components.
* Prototyping: Independent procurement, assembly, commissioning and systematic testing of functional prototypes.
* Methodology: Application of modern development methods such as FMEA, risk analyses and reviews.
* Documentation: Preparation of technical documentation in compliance with strict normative requirements (e.g. FDA, MDR/IVDR).
* Interface management: Close coordination with customers, partners and suppliers for a smooth project flow.
What qualifications are required?
* Education: ?Engineer FH/ETH (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering) or HF degree with excellent grade point average (target > 5.0)
* Experience: 2 to 4 years of professional experience in the design and construction of mechanical/mechatronic assemblies; we also give talented ETH graduates with top academic records and internships a chance.
* Industry focus: Ideally, you already have experience in the fields of medical technology, life science or laboratory automation.
* Manufacturing knowledge: Good knowledge of common manufacturing processes and their process‑related possibilities.
* Working style: You are a "mechatronics practitioner" with a precise, independent and highly customer‑oriented working style.
* Personality : Service‑orientated and independent work style with enjoyment of interdisciplinary project work.
* Languages: Fluent German (at least C1 level for project communication) and good English skills.
* Flexibility: Willingness to partially advance projects directly on-site at the customer's location.
