River Advice is the worlds leading independent manager of river vessels. The wide range of services offered supports our customers in all areas of passenger inland waterways transport: shipping company management, crew management, nautical/technical management, hospitality & catering services, safety & security, ship financing, charter brokerage, insurance management, newbuild & conversion support and ship ICT services.
Your responsibilities – Shape the future of River Advice:
* Act as the subject matter expert for all system functionalities and serve as the primary owner for assigned applications throughout their lifecycle.
* Conduct system administrator functions, maintain system setup and configurations (e.g., wages scales, contracts, reports, budgets).
* Manage the system user database and oversee access management, audits, and data protection measures.
* Analyze current workflows (e.g., crewing processes), identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into functional specifications.
* Coordinate implementation of new modules, updates, releases, enhancements, and integrations with other systems.
* Plan and coordinate testing activities for new releases and integrations, ensuring functional and technical requirements are met, including proper user acceptance testing (UAT).
* Provide first- and second-level support, troubleshoot recurring issues, and drive long-term corrective actions.
* Conduct user training sessions, create documentation, manuals, FAQs, and knowledge-base articles for best practices.
* Collaborate with crewing managers, IT teams, software vendors, and cross-functional business departments to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
* Prioritize change requests, manage the application roadmap, and oversee service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure vendor performance.
* Ensure compliance with internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and company standards throughout system usage.
* Support risk assessments, remediation activities, and maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, known issues, and solutions.
* Control data integrity across the system, including files, schedules, and certificates.
* Develop and deliver reports for crew planning, compliance, performance metrics, and other KPIs using data analytics tools.
* Ensure applications meet performance, availability, and usability expectations.
Your profil – What you bring to the table:
* Bachelor´s degree (or equivalent) in business administration or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and IT service management (ITSM).
* Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications.
* Experience with enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HR systems, or industry specific platforms).
* Familiarity with ITIL, integration concepts, APIs, and data flows.
* Excellent communication skills, coordination, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to assert yourself, prepare decisions promptly, and obtain approval.
* Ability to translate data into actionable insights & technical requirements.
* Experience in analytical and system development.
* High proficiency with PowerBI and database management.
* Proven analytical skills and understanding of organizational structure.
* Experience in generation process documentation and reports.
* Proven ability to manage projects and user testing.
* High proficiency in technical writing.
* Ability to think and act in a networked manner.
* Very structured, reliable, and documented way of working.
* Quick comprehension and affinity for identifying problems.
* English is mandatory, German a big plus, French plus.
