Job Description
Based in Geneva, as part of a global team, your role as Finance Controller will include the following duties for determined scope of companies including the Netherlands:
* Assisting the Finance Group Co-Controller with the review and monitoring of all key financial movements to ensure correct and complete information is reflected in the Group financial statements
* Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting in compliance with Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS
* Analyse financial data and provide key insights to senior management
* Keeping up with technical accounting principles to ensure that all reporting requirements are met and implemented effectively, implementing new policies and procedures when necessary
* Analytical review of the balance sheet and P&L accounts
* Manage the entire audit process, including liaising with external auditors
* Ensure compliance with all local tax law, statutory requirements, CBS reporting and internal controls
* Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and efficiency across the region
* Assisting in the continuous development and improvement of processes and procedures to ensure the provision of timely and accurate financial information
* Liaising with other team members in Geneva, Rotterdam, Poland, Romania and internationally when needed. Expect to regularly travel to our Rotterdam office and other locations.
* Assisting in completing ad-hoc reporting and analysis requested by senior management
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Finance Group Co-Controller
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in accounting, control and finance. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Chartered Accountant or equivalent)
* At least 5 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, controlling or consolidation functions, ideally within a Big 5, consulting firm and / or commodity trading company
* Strong analytical and Excel modelling skills, and excellent attention to detail
* Strong knowledge of IFRS, Dutch GAAP, Dutch tax laws and consolidation process
* Entrepreneurial drive, good organisation skills, and ability to work independently as well as in a team
* High level of ownership, results-oriented, proactive, flexible and committed
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders
* Full English and Dutch proficiency to communicate in a business context (verbally & in writing)
