Driving compliance, safety and security in Cargo Operations, this role connects SWISS WorldCargo with the NPGO Office, strengthens the Dangerous Goods Competence Center for Ground, Cargo, and Flight Ops, and supports global stations to ensure seamless, secure operations.
1. Ensuring legal & compliance by evaluating the legal requirements
2. Ensuring compliant documentation and further development of processes and procedures
3. Coordination of system-relevant interfaces and interface definition
4. Providing support to the SWC stations and interfacing with regional management in matters relating to cargo and ground operations
5. Participation in the cooperation with the applicable stakeholders e.g. Lufthansa Cargo Operations and the NPGO Offices within the Lufthansa Group
6. Conducting cargo and ground operations station assessments and safety inspections
7. Management, maintenance and development of measures for monitoring and control of the operations surveillance in terms of safety, security and compliance

This role in the NPGO office brings cargo depth and DG expertise to drive safety, security, and compliance. It partners with SWISS WorldCargo and the stations worldwide, it turns FOCA/EASA/ICAO/IATA rules into practice, supports audits and safety management. It links Ground, Cargo, and Flight Ops.
8. 3+ years in cargo operations or comparable roles; ground operations is an advantage
9. Comprehensive knowledge of cargo processes, interfaces (warehouse handling, products, DG)
10. Experience in Safety, Security and Compliance Management Systems
11. Profund knowledge and ability to interpret and implement regulations of FOCA, EASA, ICAO, IATA DG
12. IATA DG certification (Cat. 6 or equivalent CBTA) current; willingness to obtain/renew
13. Strong analytical skills; quick grasp of setups, processes, interfaces
14. Advanced IT user skills (Microsoft 365); technical understanding
15. Excellent communication skills; assertiveness, conflict management
16. Distinct quality mindset
17. Fluent German&English; additional languages as a plus
18. Willingness to travel globally (~20%)
