They specialize in “mixed signal” ASICs, modules and microelectronic systems, particularly for sensors and actuators for the industrial, automotive, avionics and imaging markets.
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Functional Safety Engineer with expertise in ASIC design to lead and support safety-critical semiconductor development in compliance with IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 (automotive functional safety). This role will work cross-functionally with architecture, design, verification, validation and qualification teams to ensure safety is designed into our ASIC products from concept through production.
Your tasks/career with us
Develop and manage the safety concept, with implementation in Technical Safety Requirements
Assignment of measures based on SIL level (redundancy, diagnostics, monitoring, fault detection, safe states, fault injection in verification)
Perform design team independent risk analyses (FMEDA, DFA, FMEA, etc.)
Review of verification
Documentation, including Safety Manual
Training of design engineers
Interface with customer for Functional Safety questions
Interface and defence with external assessors and certification bodies
Contribute to process improvement and compliance with safety standards
Your competences
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience in ASIC development in industrial, automotive, or high-reliability fields
Direct experience with IEC 61508 and/or ISO 26262 functional safety lifecycle
Experience performing FMEDA and hardware safety analyses
Understanding of hardware safety mechanisms (diagnostics, redundancy, error detection)
Experience reviewing architectures from a safety perspective
Strong documentation and technical communication skills
Experience with EDA tools
Requirements management tools (Polarion)
Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
Strong problem-solving mindset, analytical and systems-level thinkingDetail-oriented with high documentation rigour
Comfortable interacting with customers and certification authorities
