Summary
Novel Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support decision-making processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Job Responsibilities
* Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support and transactions.
* Maintain models and model libraries. Ensure processes for updating and tracking are created and followed.
* Aid in the modeling for debt and ITC sale transactions.
* Assist in transaction due diligence where relevant.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Monitor and report on financial performance by comparing actual results with forecasts and budgets.
* Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
* Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze relevant financial information.
* Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Technical or professional proficiency with Excel: Ability to work within Excel and modeling at a fast pace when required, use and navigate Excel primarily with the keyboard and understand the shortcuts native to Excel and any add-ins

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. There may be peak times outside of regular work hours depending on deadlines and required month-end, year-end closings, and transaction closings.

Required Education And Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
* Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role
* Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis
* Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial software applications
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Education And Experience
* Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
* Knowledge of Excel macros and VBA
* Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
