Buying Specialist Role
We are seeking a seasoned Buying Specialist to join our dynamic Merchandising Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in luxury fashion, a keen eye for trends, and exceptional analytical skills to optimize assortment planning and purchasing decisions.
This role requires strategic thinking, supplier negotiation expertise, and a deep understanding of consumer preferences in high-end fashion.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute buying strategies aligned with the brand's merchandising goals and seasonal trends.
* Collaborate with the design and product development teams to ensure selections align with the brand's aesthetic and market demands.
* Conduct comprehensive trend analysis, competitor research, and sales performance reviews to drive purchasing decisions.
* Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and oversee purchasing agreements to maintain cost efficiency and quality.
* Optimize product assortment planning, ensuring a balanced selection that meets sales targets and enhances brand positioning.
* Partner with retail and e-commerce teams to monitor stock levels, ensuring inventory optimization and minimal overstock.
* Utilize data analytics and KPIs to evaluate product performance, refine selections, and enhance profitability.
* Support the go-to-market process by providing input on pricing strategies and promotional activities.
* Attend buying trips, fashion weeks, and industry events to stay ahead of market shifts and emerging consumer preferences.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in buying or merchandising within luxury fashion.
* Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, trend forecasting, and financial planning.
* Proficient in data analysis tools, inventory management systems, and Excel for decision-making.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting vendor partnerships.
* A keen eye for aesthetics, understanding the brand DNA and customer expectations.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining precision.
* Fluency in English is highly desirable.
