Provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems. Serve as teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure that library/media center is involved in instructional programs of the school including distance or virtual learning. Develop the library setting as a robust and creative learning space with multiple opportunities for collaboration, research, design, and synthesis of learning. /p h3Qualifications / Requirements: /h3 h3Education/Certification: /h3 ulliMaster's degree required /liliValid Texas librarian or learning resources specialist certificate or endorsement /liliGoogle Certification preferred /li /ul h3Special Knowledge/Skills: /h3 ulliKnowledge of library science /liliAbility to instruct and manage student behavior /liliStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills /li /ul h3Experience: /h3 pMinimum of three years successful experience as a teacher in a K-12 classroom. /p h3Roles and Responsibilities: /h3 ol liProvide the leadership and expertise necessary to ensure that the school library program is aligned with the mission, goals and objectives of the school and the school district, and is an integral component of the learning/instruction program. /li liEnsure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. /li liEmpower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information. /li liInstill a love of reading and learning with all students and ensure equitable access to information. /li liCollaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to design and implement lessons that support student learning and instructional effectiveness. /li liEvaluate, select, and requisition new library materials. /li liMaintain a comprehensive and efficient system for cataloging all library materials, and instruct teachers and students on use of the system. /li liAssist teachers in the selection of books and other instructional materials, and make library materials available to supplement the instructional program. /li liCompile budget and cost estimates based on documented program needs. /li liProvide leadership and instruction in use of instructional technology. /li /ol h3Working Conditions: /h3 pMaintain Emotional control under stress.
