About the Role
We are seeking a Sous Chef (m/w/x) to join our airline catering kitchen. You will support the Executive Chef in leading daily operations, ensuring that meals are produced on time, at the highest quality, and according to client specifications. This role requires creativity, leadership, and strong organizational skills — with a particular focus on the unique demands of airline catering.
Annual gross salary CHF 70,000–78,000 (including 13th month), negotiable depending on experience.
* Assist with the preparation and design of all menus
* Produce high-quality dishes with both excellent presentation and flavor
* Ensure the kitchen operates on time and according to our quality standards
* Represent the Head Chef as needed in planning and supervising food preparation
* Resolve issues quickly and effectively, taking control in challenging situations
* Lead and train kitchen staff, create a work schedule, and evaluate staff performance
* Coordinate stock ordering and inventory control in collaboration with the Purchasing Manager
* Comply with and enforce hygiene regulations and safety standards
* Foster a positive and professional working environment with colleagues and clients
* Excellent command of English (written and spoken). English is the working language of the company and is essential for internal and external communication; German preferred.
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef (minimum 3–5 years).
* Airline catering or large-scale food production experience strongly preferred.
* In-depth knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a kitchen environment.
* Accuracy and speed in handling pressure situations and providing solutions.
* Proficiency with MS Office and kitchen management tools.
* Flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
