Under the Program Manager's supervision, the System Engineer leads and manages end-to-end multidisciplinary programs across the digital printing organization.
The role requires a broad perspective, understanding of systems and processes, high analytical capabilities, and outstanding communication skills, utilizing a systematic engineering approach.
The System Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end development and validation process throughout the PLC.
Mission & Key Responsibilities
* Learn and understand BOBST’s existing products from different Product Lines.
* Investigate existing solutions in the market.
* Analyze and define architecture and system requirements to meet a modular design approach with a core team (cross-organization).
* Coordinate product/module development across organizational boundaries.
* Communicate with stakeholders to identify their needs and support (R&D, Marketing, Operations, Procurement, Customer Service).
* Maintain efficient and organized working methods, including presentation and documentation management.
* Engage regularly with upper management, reporting on project status, activities, and achievements.
* Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions.
* Utilize quality tools and management techniques (8D, FMEA, EFA).
* Perform System FMEA with R&D and supervise subsystem FMEA.
* Select optimal solutions using metrological approaches.
* Collaborate with internal and external groups to identify issues, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
* Implement best practices.
* Create test plans in coordination with the Test Manager to address specific problems promptly.
* Lead integration and qualification processes.
Skills and Experience
* M.Sc. in System Engineering, Software, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in analyzing complex multidisciplinary systems.
* Experience in project management, application design, and system integration.
* Broad knowledge in Electronics, Software, Mechanics, Fluidics, and Materials.
* Strong analytical skills with clear rationale behind assessments.
* Autonomous, proactive, and resourceful in finding relevant information, tools, and vendors.
* Organized, proficient in data analysis and management tools.
* Proficient in MS Office, including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Willingness to learn continuously.
* Hands-on approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexible, resilient, capable of working with early R&D prototypes.
* Knowledge of digital printing technologies is an asset.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or machine industry environment.
* Willing to travel up to 15%.
* Fluent in English; French and German are assets. All technical reports will be written in English.
