Overview
Researcher position - Control for reliability of Electromobility Systems 80 - 100% at University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. The researcher will participate in a project under the NCCR Automation consortium, collaborating with Principal Investigators from FHNW and ETHZ. The research focuses on designing multi-objective controllers to optimize the efficiency, reliability, and lifespan of electric vehicles. Initial contract is for two years with the option for renewal.
Responsibilities
* Develop an optimal system layout for facilitating decentralized control and optimal operation of a network of power converters with generators, storage, and loads.
* Create a switched systems model of a reconfigurable grid and design adaptive controllers.
* Write scientific papers.
* Collaborate with other researchers within the NCCR network.
Your profile
Required
* An engineering degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering, with a specialization in control systems or optimization, complemented by a robust mathematical foundation.
* A proven research background, evidenced by a solid publication record in premier conferences and/or journals.
* Practical experience in electromobility or power conversion.
* A keen interest in contributing to an international setting, with proficient communication skills in English being essential.
* Proficiency in German, or a readiness to learn, is advantageous.
