* Snow Water Resources and Snowmelt Dynamics
We invite applications for a three-year postdoctoral position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Snow Hydrology. The successful candidate will join our research team to enhance an operational snow hydrological model system by improving snow process representations and associated data assimilation schemes.
You will work with our national snow analysis and forecasting system, collaborate in national and international research projects, and contribute to running our operational services. Your research findings will directly enhance snow predictions used by the Swiss avalanche and flood forecasting services, in the hydropower production planning process, and for public information.
You hold a university degree in environmental sciences, physics, mathematics, or a related field, along with a PhD ideally focused on a topic related to snow hydrology. Expertise in using and developing spatially distributed snow models and corresponding data assimilation methods is desirable.
We offer a collaborative team environment that bridges the gap between science and practical application, fostering a stimulating and supportive work culture. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to publish your research findings in scientific journals and present them at international conferences.
