Join ISZL as our next MYP Design/Maths/Science Teacher
At the International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL) we are looking for a part‑time (80%) MYP Design/Maths/Science teacher for a 1‑year contract, with potential renewal. The role involves teaching these three subjects in the Middle School at the Zug Campus, working closely with colleagues to design inquiry‑based learning experiences and supporting the school’s Personal Development Programme, PSHE, homeroom duties and after‑school programme.
Responsibilities
Designing Learning
* Plan purposeful, conceptual, inquiry‑driven lessons that meet the needs of all learners, incorporating inclusion policy and ISZL curriculum.
* Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure curriculum alignment.
* Use ISZL digital platforms to collate and share planning documentation.
* Employ varied assessment methods to refine plans and improve learning outcomes.
* Personalise and differentiate learning experiences to foster independent learning.
Facilitating Learning
* Create a safe environment that encourages student contribution and self‑questioning.
* Develop student collaboration skills using appropriate structures.
* Integrate meaningful technology to extend student thinking.
* Contextualise learning and promote international mindedness, fostering intercultural competence.
Assessing Learning
* Assess student progress in a timely manner, aligned with ISZL and IB objectives.
* Select appropriate formative and summative assessment methods for all learners.
* Use ISZL digital platforms to document and communicate assessment rationale, criteria and outcomes to teachers, students and parents.
Empowering Learning
* Incorporate diverse identities by offering opportunities for students to contextualise their own learning and learn about others.
* Promote student agency in co‑designing learning and assessment.
* Empower students to understand their learning profile and take ownership of their learning journey.
Qualifications
* Internationally recognised teaching qualification.
* Minimum of two years of teaching experience.
* EU/EEA/CH passport or right to work in Switzerland is required; visas for other passports cannot be supplied.
* MYP experience preferred but not essential.
* Experience in a Middle School and International School environment.
