Role Overview
The purpose of the role is to manage defined client accounts independently, acting as the main point of contact for day‑to‑day and strategic discussions. The Senior Client Manager ensures smooth operations, drives strategic initiatives, and creates opportunities for specialists to contribute fully. This role combines leadership, strategic consulting, project management, and financial accountability to deliver exceptional client service and agency growth.
Responsibilities
* Act as independent and main point of contact in day‑to‑day and strategic discussions for the designated clients.
* Manage clients regarding efficient work deployment in consideration of the client contract.
* Control fees and bonuses and align client management based on contractually defined KPIs.
* Independent processing of briefings and client requests with critical consideration.
* Independent problem solving for clients' problems (sense for the right time to involve the supervisor).
* Take all necessary measures to be a trusted partner for the clients, understand their business, issues, opportunities, and objectives, consequently ensuring maximum value for the agency’s services.
* Work with the Managing Director, Client Director, Head of Investment and planners to proactively develop ideas, strategic proposals and presentations aimed at driving the client’s business forward and, by doing so, develop growth revenue for the agency.
* Project manage client communication plans including timelines, budget, execution, reporting, learnings, insights, invoicing, etc.
* Oversee processes to ensure smooth financial operations.
* Support Client Director with budget planning and forecasting as well as client requests.
* Responsible, within global clients, to follow the guidance, rules, and answer to all tasks in a professional and timely manner.
* Provide regular, proactive reporting of all client activities to the client.
* Assist the Client Director in developing a clear annual plan for each account.
* Collaborate across Dentsu and across network as needed – use good knowledge of products and services to drive business value for clients and Dentsu.
* Review plans to drive greater margin and value through innovation and better ways of working.
* Support and motivate internal team to produce best‑in‑class work.
* Cross‑ and up‑sell Dentsu and Merkle services.
* Advise clients on holistic media strategies.
* Develop clients in media landscape transformation and opportunities that media provides.
* Derive client strategies independently – confidence and expertise in all media questions.
* Confidence in consulting discussions and independent presentation of projects to clients.
* Adhere to deadlines and quality standards of documents.
