The project is a Trading and Position platform Implementation for Commodity products. You will be part of a Top Initiative for this commodity client. This is a brilliant opportunity to work on several type of commodity products and learn a new trading platform. You will have the ability to showcase the work directly to the End users. The team is responsible for the integration of a trading application (Orchestrade) used for: • Pre-deal origination workflow and post execution monitoring and life-cycle management. • Dedicated workflow, configuration of the platform, supporting business. • Leverage strategic standard risk systems. • Integration with Operations, Finance. • Reporting, Reconciliation. • Accounting. The application is Orchestrade:- Orchestrade is in .Net (C#): Natively connected to Excel- Database: Microsoft SQL- Delivered In-House or Hosted (Amazon Web Services). You will be part of the development team responsible for the migration of the new trading platform. You will act as a senior .NET developer. This is a brilliant opportunity to work on a new trading platform written in C#. Role Purpose
The Back Office Stream Lead will be responsible for leading the Back Office workstream as part of a strategic ETRM transformation programme to replace Endur with Orchestrade. The role will ensure that Back Office operational processes, settlement, invoicing, confirmations, and accounting-related requirements are accurately designed, implemented, tested, and adopted within Orchestrade. The Back Office Stream Lead will act as the key interface between Back Office users, IT, Finance, and the Orchestrade implementation partner, ensuring the solution supports efficient, controlled, and auditable post trade operations for Power, Certificates, Gas, and Biomethane products.
Responsibilities
Key ResponsibilitiesBack Office Workstream Leadership
Lead the Back Office workstream within the Orchestrade implementation programme
Own Back Office scope, priorities, roadmap, and dependencies
Represent Back Office requirements and controls within the overall Endur replacement programme
Ensure alignment across Front Office, Middle Office, and Finance processesBusiness Requirements & Solution Design
Gather, document, and challenge Back Office business requirements covering: o Confirmations and contract management o Physical and financial settlement o Invoicing, payments, and cash flow o Fees, taxes, and charges o Exception handling and operational controls
Drive Back Office solution design in Orchestrade, ensuring fit for purpose workflows and controls
Review and validate functional designs provided by implementation partners
Orchestrade Configuration & Implementation Oversight
Oversee configuration of Orchestrade Back Office components, including: o Settlement calendars, logistics, and delivery structures o Invoicing and billing rules o Confirmation workflow o Payment and accounting data outputs
Ensure correct lifecycle handling for Power, Gas, Biomethane, and Environmental Certificate contracts
Work closely with integration teams on interfaces to finance, ERP, payment, and reporting systems
Testing, Reconciliation & Go Live Readiness
Lead Back Office testing activities, including SIT and UAT
Define Back Office test scenarios and operational sign off criteria
Support reconciliation of settlement, invoice, and cash data during testing and cutover
Ensure Back Office operational readiness for go live, including procedures and controls
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary Back Office point of contact for: o Operations and settlement team o Finance and accounting stakeholders o IT and data team o Orchestrade vendor and system integrators
Provide clear status reporting, issue escalation, and risk management to programme governance
Skills
Must have
Back Office & ETRM Systems
Strong Back Office experience within Energy Trading & Risk Management organisations
Proven experience implementing Orchestrade or Endur in a Back Office capacity
Solid understanding of trade lifecycle from execution through settlement and invoicingExperience supporting system replacements or major ETRM transformations
Product & Market Knowledge: Hands on experience with: o Power and Gas (physical and financial) settlement o Biomethane contracts and delivery structures o Environmental or Certificate products (e.g. Guarantees of Origin)
Understanding of Back Office impacts of complex energy contracts
Management: Strong leadership of functional workstreams within large-scale transformation programmes
Excellent understanding of operational risk and control environments
Ability to translate business processes into system configuration and workflows
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with operations, finance, IT, and senior stakeholders
Nice to have
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline
