The municipal administration of Birsfelden is a modern service company that provides a wide range of tasks for around 10,500 residents in a challenging environment.
We are looking for a motivated and committed individual to head the Structural Engineering Department (m/f/d, 80-100%) starting October 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
You will be responsible for the area of structural engineering, including project management/client roles in construction projects and construction management of maintenance projects on municipal properties. You will also be responsible for the building permit process within the municipality.
Your main tasks are:
* Planning and realization of municipal structural engineering projects with cost and schedule responsibility.
* Responsible for preservation, operation, and functionality of municipal properties alongside the property department.
* Planning, tendering, and construction management of smaller and medium-sized construction projects.
* Condition assessment of municipal properties & facilities (including maintenance planning) to support portfolio management.
* Technical support for caretakers.
* Review and processing of building and advertising applications and advising the public, clients, and authorities on building law matters.
* Participation in space and usage planning, as well as support in residential development and zoning planning.
These activities require:
* Completed training as an architect or in a construction-related field with appropriate further education.
* Several years of professional experience with in-depth knowledge in planning, construction, or property environment.
* A structured working method, conflict and communication skills, and confident German language skills.
* Experience in project management and preferably experience in processing building applications.
* Independence, a high sense of responsibility, and a careful, efficient, and reliable working style.
