YOUR IMPACT
* Loss prevention: Identify where the origin of the loss is, inform concerned party in order for the problem to be rectified.
* Handle reefer cargo claims.
* Investigate incidents to assess liabilities and extent of damage.
* Negotiate claim settlements with customers, terminals, vessel owners, etc.
* Manage cargo-related incidents with a view to mitigate losses and save costs.
* Report to the management and offer solutions to re-occurring issues (loss prevention).
* Support Reefer claim manager with loss prevention based on analysis of incidents.
* Provide legal assistance (by seeking support from a Lawyer) and advice to our agency network when the case requires.
* Appoint suitable experts and lawyers.
* Liaise with our insurers.
* Initiate and follow up recovery of sums of money from liable third parties.
* Keep the database updated.
* Revise survey format where required.
* Generally assist the manager in respect of various tasks/comply with various tasks assigned by the manager.
* Create a line of communication with other Departments at MSC HQ, mostly logistics, operations, vessel efficiency, and commercial departments.
YOUR BACKGROUND
* Legal/marine insurance background.
* Knowledge of the shipping business.
* Ability to work autonomously.
* Sense of responsibility.
* Self-motivation.
* Proven ability to work in a team environment.
* Language Skills – very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (specifically Excel).
CONTRACT DETAILS
* Based in Geneva.
* Full Time.
* Starting ASAP.
* EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit.
