Embark on a transformative journey as a Category Manager Logistics Procurement EMEA in our client’s dynamic team, a global and well known chemical manufacturer.
The Category Manager Procurement sets the organization’s procurement strategy for EMEA Logistics. This includes the formal development and execution of strategies using best practices associated with the formal RFP process, process improvement, negotiations, and supplier development. As a Category Manager you will act as the link to suppliers translating the needs of our business in a way that encourages them to provide services of superior quality and value to enable us to reliably supply and deliver excellent quality finished products to our customers as well as within different plants/warehouse locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Contract Negotiations: Lead end-to-end contract negotiations for Logistics Procurement – with focus on EMEA Road, Warehouse, Multimodal etc. following our client’s best practices and policies.
* Strategic Alignment: Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on strategic initiatives and optimal outcomes (e.g. RFPs to be launched in the following year, renewal negotiation timing depending on complexity, net new initiatives/projects). Achieve Y-o-Y cost savings and Variable Margin Improvement (joint metrics with technology).
* Collaboration: Work with supply chain and operations stakeholder teams to support company-wide objectives and planning efforts.
* Partnership and Compliance: Collaborate with internal matrix partners (Legal, Information Security, Privacy) to achieve best deals while adhering to policies. Leverage source-to-contract tooling (tracking contracts, savings, competitive events, etc) as the source of truth.
* Perform market analysis, benchmark analysis, and develop “should cost” models at a commodity level.
* Manage supplier relationships and contract negotiations to identify suppliers capable of meeting product and service requirements for both current and future business needs.
* Lead cross-functional projects for alternate or second source suppliers and technology.
* Develop and maintain productive relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Market analysis: stay abreast of market trends, industry developments and regulatory changes.
Key Requirements
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business management, supply chain management, or a related field.
* Experience: 8-10 years of procurement experience in Logistics Procurement.
* Good knowledge in EMEA Road and Warehouse Procurement is a must.
* Experience with Ariba Procurement Tool and Transporeon is a plus.
