Purpose* •\tDevelopment, scale-up and implementation of chemical processes for new intermediates/active ingredient or new synthesis routes at industrial scale making sure that at any given time the process is safe and compliant with legal and internal HSE rules. •\tSupport and recommendations to production to deliver supply chain and site needs in terms of capacity, quality, costs and sustainability. Support of process troubleshooting issues. •\tContinuous improvement of one or more chemical processes, in established production lines or for news processes, to make them robust and sustainable at the best cost. Accountabilities* -\tUse action verbs that describe the level of accountability (e.g. support, contribute, develop, lead) -\tGive an indication on freedom to act (e.g. independently, under supervision) -\tDescribe interdependencies with other jobs / job families / functional areas) •\tDefine and agree development work in agreement with the stakeholders. •\tPlan and follow development work done in the laboratory. Carry out scale-up and support full-scale plant trials to test new and/or improved manufacturing processes to meet agreed Supply Chain targets in collaboration with production. •\tParticipate in the commissioning of new or modified plants, taking part in technical start-up teams, to ensure that design intent is met, and production is established safely and effectively. •\tProvide proactive technical support to production team and arrange support work to assist in the solution of process problems to permit restoration of satisfactory and continued improvement production performance. •\tUnderstand the requirements of the supply chain and take a leading role (in the delivery of objectives as required). If required act as the Technology Lead for an AI, or specific steps within. •\tProvide expertise in process engineering and be the contact for project teams in this area. Be part of technical networks to be up-to-date on new technologies and last innovations •\tSupply technical information / expert advice to Process Risk Assessments; work with company experts (eg Process Hazards) to ensure relevant information is available when required.
