Senior Technical Sales Manager - Analytical Instrumentation - Switzerland
Switzerland is one of the most advanced scientific markets in Europe, with a dense concentration of pharmaceutical, biotech, and chemical companies. In this environment, expectations go beyond product performance. Clients look for partners who understand their workflows, anticipate their needs, and bring real scientific value. This role sits at the crossroads of analytical chemistry, purification technologies, and high‑level technical sales, where credibility and precision are key.
Our client develops and supplies advanced analytical and purification solutions used in research and industrial environments. Their technologies support scientists in areas such as drug development, chemical analysis, and compound purification. They work with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic laboratories, and industrial players, delivering tailored solutions that combine instruments, consumables, and scientific expertise. Their positioning is built on a strong ability to go beyond standard products and offer application‑driven, customised support.
This position holds a strategic and high‑impact role for the business. Reporting to the Director Export, it carries full responsibility for the Swiss market, combining direct sales and distributor management: developing and managing a portfolio of clients across Switzerland, with both established accounts and new strategic targets.
A revenue scope of approximately 700K CHF in direct business is complemented by a distributor network generating additional turnover (around 300K), with the opportunity to progressively bring more activities in direct. The position requires close interaction with scientists and technical teams, understanding their workflows and challenges in order to position relevant solutions across instruments and consumables. It also includes engagement with major industry players such as leading pharmaceutical and chemical groups, as well as universities and specialised laboratories. You will be operating with a high level of autonomy in a complex, multilingual market, while contributing directly to the company’s growth in a key territory.
The ideal candidate is both scientifically credible and commercially driven, able to navigate technical discussions while maintaining a clear business focus. Autonomy, organisation, and the ability to build long‑term relationships are essential, as well as confidence in managing complex sales cycles and high‑level stakeholders. Comfort in a multicultural environment is important, and fluency in German and French is a strong advantage alongside English.
This business is for someone who is looking to take real ownership of a territory and operate with a high degree of independence, while still being closely connected to a supportive and expert team. It offers the opportunity to work on a market with strong purchasing power, where technical expertise is valued and where solutions are tailored rather than standardised. The company provides an environment where impact is visible, decisions are made efficiently, and scientific depth is a key differentiator. It is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys combining technical understanding with commercial strategy and who wants to engage directly with high‑level scientific clients.
The team is international, lean, and growing, with close collaboration between commercial, technical, and product functions. The role can be based in Switzerland or near the border, with regular travel across the country.
Compensation is in the range of 110K to 120K CHF base salary, complemented by a variable component typically reaching 20K to 25K depending on performance. A company car is provided, and the structure supports on‑site demonstrations and proximity to clients, which is a strong advantage in this market.
