Your responsibilities will span conceptual design, mechanical engineering, design for manufacturing and assembly, and the integration of electronic systems, ensuring that our robots meet specific application requirements and are cost-effective for large-scale production. We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated experience transitioning projects from prototyping and proof-of-concepts to MVPs, final products, and mass production. If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of robotic designs, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of intelligent robotics.What You’ll Be DoingDesign and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, robotic payloads, and actuators for our robotsBuild and test prototypes to evaluate functionality and performanceWork closely with electronics engineers to integrate printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) into mechanical structuresPerform rigorous testing and evaluations to verify the reliability, durability, and safety of robotic hardwareCreate detailed hardware documentation, including specifications, assembly instructions, and testing protocolsBuild, lead and mentor an exceptional team of hardware engineersProvide expert guidance to product managers and executives for strategic decision-makingCreate and maintain documentation, guidelines, and best practices to streamline knowledge sharingImprove design standards and processes through active participation in design reviewsWhat You Must HaveMaster’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Engineering, Robotics, Automotive or AerospaceA minimum of five years of industry or research experience, with PhD experience applicableProficient in CAD software for mechanical designDeep understanding of actuators, motors, materials, design for manufacturing, power transmission, mechanisms, and contemporary manufacturing technologiesDemonstrated leadership in managing teams, contractors, and relationships with OEMs/ODMsStrong problem-solving skills, adept at debugging and optimizing hardware componentsGet some bonus pointsPhD degree in Engineering, Robotics, Automotive, Aerospace or a similar discipline, or an equivalent amount of research experienceFamiliarity with design for mass productionExperience in the robotic, automotive, aerospace, medical, and consumer electronics sectorExperience in managing a hardware teamExperience interfacing with control systems and integrating electronicsRIVR is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that values every perspective.
