Your area of responsibility
As an EMC systems engineer, you will ensure the comprehensive electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of our rail vehicles. Your main tasks include:
Supporting system engineers in the design and integration of electrical systems (especially the powertrain) while complying with EMC requirements.
Creation of all necessary EMC documents: concepts, requirements and test specifications.
Holistic consideration of the vehicle to ensure electromagnetic compatibility with the railway infrastructure (railway power supply, track vacancy detection systems).
Systematic assessment of electromagnetic risks and evaluation of suitable EMC measures for risk reduction.
Support and solution finding in the implementation of grounding and shielding concepts.
Fault analysis & training:
Conducting investigations and measurements of electromagnetic interference on fleets to identify causes and develop remedial measures.
Conducting internal training courses (engineering to management) to promote EMC understanding.
Conducting technical discussions with customers, suppliers, regulatory authorities and experts.
Active participation in interdisciplinary teams in the establishment of an EMC competence center and in the creation of guidelines and manuals.
Your profile – What you bring to the table
Education: Completed university degree in electrical engineering or physics.
EMC expertise: Sound practical experience in the field of EMC, particularly with regard to:
Interference currents and network feedback.
Electromagnetic interference emission.
Protective and operational grounding.
A sound understanding of electromagnetic fields and interactions.
Experience in the field of measurement technology.
Ideally, an interest in power electronics and high-voltage technology.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills and assertiveness.
Language skills: Very good German and English skills (level C1) in spoken and written form.
