The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Manufacturing Process Manager to join our dynamic team in Rotkreuz, Switzerland. In this key role, you will combine strategic thinking with operational excellence to drive sustainable improvements across the entire product lifecycle in close collaboration with our suppliers (focus on injection molding tool makers and automation suppliers). You will actively contribute to the technological advancement of both new and existing products, establish scalable standards, and significantly reduce total costs — all without compromising on quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take strategic ownership of the supplier portfolio (focus on injection molding tool makers and automation suppliers): select, assess, and develop partners with a focus on innovation, new technologies, quality, and cost efficiency.
* Identify and implement technological and process improvements — also for existing products.
* Develop and establish standards to enable scalability and increase efficiency across product lines.
* Create business cases to evaluate and realize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) improvements.
* Negotiate contract terms and conditions in collaboration with legal and commercial teams.
* Continuously evaluate and monitor the performance of suppliers using KPIs and other measurable criteria.
* Manage and resolve supplier issues and escalations to ensure a smooth supply chain.
* Actively manage stakeholders, both internal and external — serving as the bridge between suppliers and Roche stakeholders.
Who You Are
* A technical or scientific background, ideally with experience in strategic sourcing or supplier management.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier management and strategic planning.
* A strong sense for technological trends combined with a sharp cost-awareness.
* Experience with standardization, modularization, or platform approaches is a plus.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex topics.
* A passion for shaping impactful solutions in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
* Fluent in German and English.
