Description
Our client is looking for support. The role reports to the Deputy Head of Banking and works closely with the Banking Department Management Group and line managers, providing broad support across budget planning, financial control, contract management, and key management activities.
Responsibilities
* Manage and monitor the Banking Department's overall budget, working closely with managers and administrators across IT, Finance, and other areas.
* Prepare clear, data-driven financial reports, dashboards, and presentations showing current and forecasted budget performance on a regular basis.
* Support the full budgeting and business‑planning cycle, including the annual budget process, and review financial data provided by Finance and ITS.
* Collaborate with Finance and ITS to ensure accurate administration, compliance, and timely delivery of required reporting.
* Deliver finance‑ and budget‑related training to internal teams to strengthen financial awareness and consistency.
* Assist Banking contract managers with best practices and procurement‑related tasks such as requisitions and documentation.
* Analyse budget trends, identify risks and opportunities, and help recommend reallocations where needed and approved by Banking Management.
* Coordinate selected projects and contribute to departmental initiatives to ensure smooth execution and alignment with priorities.
* Draft high-quality presentations, memos, and briefing materials for Banking Management, particularly on financial and budget topics.
* Support departmental prioritisation activities and provide assistance with certain tax‑administration tasks.
Qualifications
* Diploma or degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting/Business Management etc. and/or relevant qualification in finance and/or accounting
* At least five years' work experience in supporting budgeting and finance activities (e.g. FP&A) with experience in budget and resource coordination in relation to project management
* Strong knowledge of international accounting standards and practices.
* Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
* Experience within the banking sector is highly desired
