Being part of HSBC in Switzerland, you’ll help evolve and grow our business.

The jobholder must act proactively to ensure accuracy, completeness, and the effectiveness of QI, FATCA, SST, TTC operational taxes compliance (withholding and/or reporting) and Automatic Exchange of Information (OECD Standard / CRS). The challenge will be to support the risk management framework, ensure risks are clearly understood, and maintain a program to periodically stress test effectiveness. This requires interpretation and practical application of technical legislations such as QI, FATCA, SST, CRS, DAC6/MDR, and future digitalization of the tax function.

The jobholder will need to acquire and maintain a good knowledge of key local and foreign tax legislations, including double taxation agreements, and understand banking products and their tax components across the group.

What you will do:

The jobholder will support the Client Tax Governance team in:

* Ensuring tax risks related to Regulatory and International Tax regimes are identified and effective solutions are recommended.
* Understanding and applying all technical tax issues within the scope of the role.
* Engaging with business and technical resources to ensure compliance with Regulatory and International Tax requirements.
* Advising on implementing processes to ensure efficient customer tax documentation, withholding, and reporting requirements.

In this role you will:

Gain and leverage understanding of cross-departmental procedures and engage as a Tax SME with key stakeholders, specifically:

* Monitoring compliance with Regulatory and International Tax regimes for GPB entities.
* Reviewing procedures and activities periodically to ensure effectiveness, assess risks, and identify resolutions.
* Building relationships with other departments to communicate priorities based on regulatory changes.
* Providing technical advice, training, and support on relevant regimes.
* Creating and reviewing internal procedures related to International and Swiss regimes.
* Supervising Client Life Cycle Management teams to ensure guidance is understood and implemented, including training and quality checks.
* Monitoring developments and supporting their implementation.
* Serving as a main contact point for fiscal matters in private bank booking centers, redirecting queries as appropriate.
* Supporting the preparation for external Swiss or US Tax authorities and Internal Audit, following up on findings and recommendations.
* Assisting external clients with tax-related queries through meetings or calls.
