For our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company in the Basel region, we are seeking an Expert Science and Technology (m/f/d) in Downstream Process Development. This innovative organization is at the forefront of biotechnology and drug development, operating state-of-the-art facilities for large-scale production of biologics. Your Responsibilities
* Design and execute scientific studies to support the preparation and delivery of drug substance manufacturing processes within project timelines
* Perform purification experiments using advanced technologies such as chromatography and filtration techniques
* Collaborate closely with cross‑functional project teams under the coordination of a Project Leader
* Optimize and develop analytical methods to enhance process efficiency and productivity
* Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory instruments and infrastructure while meeting quality standards and deadlines
* Document experimental results and plant activities comprehensively for regulatory and scientific purposes
* Identify and communicate technical challenges proactively, working with team members to resolve issues
* Manage chemicals and solvents safely within your designated area of responsibility, conducting safety and literature reviews as needed
Your Profile
* Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience as an Associate Scientist/Associate Expert or equivalent role
* Bachelor's degree (BS) or Technician qualification with continuing education (EU equivalent)
* Demonstrated expertise in the safe handling of hazardous materials, chemicals, and specialized laboratory equipment
* Strong technical knowledge in biotechnology or a related scientific field
* Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, technical tools, and relevant software applications
* Experience with downstream development technologies (e.g., chromatography, filtration) is highly advantageous
* Solid presentation and scientific writing skills for effective communication of results
* Fluent in English (oral and written); proficiency in the local site language is required
* Strong communication abilities and collaborative mindset for effective teamwork
