3rd Shift Shipping/Sorting Department
Location: Berne, IN 46711 US
Schedule: 3rd Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Pay: $20.50 per hour + $1.50 shift premium (2nd & 3rd shift) + $1.00 attendance bonus if worked 40 hrs per week.
Job Description
Preparing customer orders for shipment includes packing experience made up of running multiple inspection machines. Good time management is helpful. Unpacking and dividing product before putting it away in the warehouse, bar‑code scanning, quality control & production reporting, and loading and unloading trucks.
Forklift driving of both stand‑up and sit‑down units is required. Forklift experience is helpful but not mandatory. Use of both types of forklifts will be part of the job, and forklift training will be provided upon hire, regardless of past experience or certification.
The role involves running multiple inspection machines including setup, troubleshooting and adjustments. The job is divided into three areas: Area 1 focuses on running packing machines; Area 2 involves pulling boxes from the warehouse and building skids of various parts that ship to customers; Area 3 handles loading trucks on the dock. Once trained, the new employee will rotate through each area—one week in Area 1, the next week in Area 2, then Area 3, and back to Area 1 in the fourth week.
